Story Behind The Song
As a lifelong Christian I found myself in a situation of learning about Islam and reaching out in brotherhood to a number of Muslims - who became friends. I wanted to express what became the key ideas in the song - be a person of peace, that the holy books require us to love each other and that we can be the change needed. The music I originally wrote never quite felt right so the track languished until this Moroccan mashup fell into place and it all came together. Vocalist Buzz Hunter brings an appropriate other-worldly sense to the song.
Song Description
An attempt to bridge a centuries long gap in understanding between the Abrahamic faiths by pointing out similarities - God is merciful and forgiving, and that He expects us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.

Lyrics
(V1) Our mighty God, made it clear, just what he wants from us
One word, sums it up, and the word is love
So love your family, love your neighbor, who is my neighbor you ask?
To love your enemies, a whole lot harder, but why have enemies at all, I ask?
CHORUS
Most merciful, oft forgiving, that's what I'm talking about...(our Lord is)
Most merciful, oft forgiving, that's what I'm talking about
Oft forgiving, most merciful oft forgiving most merciful
(V2) Holy books say, "Be a person of peace", the time has come, to live those words
Misunderstandings from the past, cloud that peace from being ours to-day
See the example, follow the path, straight and narrow, I see heaven
Heaven can be, here on earth, peace can triumph, love can conquer
Repeat CHO
Oft forgiving, most merciful - 2x
That's what I'm talking about
(V3) Divine examples, lead to forgiveness, then understanding, we can be the change
Change one heart, to reach to another, listen to the words, He has to say
listen to the words, He has to say
listen to the words, listen to the words He has to say
listen to the words, He has to say
listen to the words, He has to say
Repeat CHO
Our Lord is - oft forgiving most merciful
That's what I'm talking about
oft forgiving most merciful
That's what I'm talking about
