Story Behind The Song
I used the line about an 'army of footprints in the sand' at my wife Denise's funeral in Palos Park IL. In the almost four years of fighting cancer we had so many people helping us along the long journey that the burden seemed lighter in the sharing. I hope the song represents 'giving back' to those many footprints that carried us along.
Song Description
This song makes reference to the well known poem about a single set of footprints in the sand at the times the Lord was carrying you. The twist here is that there was an army of footprints in the sand - a community of people who were there to help in your time of need.
