Story Behind The Song
This song is a rejection of the name it claim it cult and the people that say that God can do NOTHING unless we pray. I understand why they say those things but, if it's not true all the time , they shouldn't infer that it is. Jesus will come back even if we don't pray, because He promised He would, and, we can't speak something into existence that is not God's will, or our motives are not in God's will.
Song Description
Jesus was born even though human beings began to doubt that it would ever come to pass.

Lyrics
THE DOUBTING SHEPHERDS
(His Faithfulness is Here to Stay)
Words and Music by JOANNA
They had waited for the coming of the Lord, but their hopes had failed to be realized.
They had prayed that He would come in their day, but they’re doubting only led them to dismay.
Chorus
They never thought that He would really come. In their humanness their hopes were all gone.
They thought their prayers meant nothing anyway, but His faithfulness is here to stay.
They remembered how Abraham had believed, and it was counted to him as righteousness.
But wasn’t he special?..…God loved him more?…..Or was he just in the right place to be blessed.
Chorus
With their fears and pain consuming all their thoughts, they finally laid it at the Father’s feet.
They put it in His hands, and they let it go, and God said, “Now my glory I will show!”
Chorus
The next night while they lay their heads to rest, they saw a star, different from the rest.
A star so bright..…They could not help but follow, and it led them to the Savior we all know.
They never thought that He would really come, but oh what joy, when He was born.
He said that He would be with us always, because His faithfulness is here to stay.
Repeat, ….Thank God His faithfulness is here to stay.
