Story Behind The Song
Guitarist from (then) band Griffin came back from Honeymoon, and at 1st jam following that blissful event, he presented us with this great 6/8 rock riff from start to finish for a whole song. So from his honeymoon came his guitar riff, and my melody and lyrics about a "PERFECT NIGHTMARE".... :-)
Song Description
A song I wrote based on my (then) band, Griffin's guitarist's riff.
An abstract song based around nightmares and dreams. It also hints that sometimes people's lives who seem to others as a bit of a "nightmare" are perfect for them, and only seem odd or different or wrong to those on the outside looking in.

Lyrics
Verse 1
Tell me once again, just so I believe it
Look at my friend, he's laying there and he's bleeding
Slowly so it goes, it's the ticking of the ages
This demon deep inside of me is tired of it's cages
Verse 2
Tender, tense and raw, it's a wound without a dressing
So leave it at the door, it's dirty too I'm guessing
Only one at a time, it's all I can afford now
Your dream is so sublime, tell me more, tell me how
Chorus
Time to sleep it's perfect in your nightmare
So it seems I live it
In my dreams you're walking over water
It's perfect in your nightmare now
Verse 2
Waking in a sweat, I'm numb but I can feel it
Recognise regret, no more need to waste it
Is this a memory
Time please be good to me
Hope I can wake up tomorrow
Don't want to beg and steal
Don't want to fade away
Don't want to sell out to borrow
Chorus
Time to sleep it's perfect in your nightmare
So it seems I live it
In my dreams you're walking over water
It's perfect in your nightmare
Perfect in your nightmare
Time to sleep it's perfect in your nightmare
So it seems I live it
In my dreams you're walking over water
It's perfect in your nightmare
It's perfect in your nightmare now
