Story Behind The Song

Christmas lights is a song I wrote while I was in Ireland at the end of 2016. I was invited to play at a Christmas concert with Make a Change, a local group of very talented musicians. As I loved the Irish Christmas flair with the cold air, shimmering trees and cups of tea, I decided to write a song for the concert just about that. So Christmas lights is a song about my December in Ireland, away from home. But as beautiful as it was I did miss my loved ones, reflected in the line ,and I wonder if you could make my dreams come true and spend it here with me'. I like to think of it as my little bottled up moment I brought back to Tenerife to keep it with me. But it doesn't specify any locations, and personal aspects aside, it's a generic indie folk Christmas song - and it definitely has those Christmas feels!

Song Description

"Christmas lights" is a folk song that impersonates that "Christmas Feeling" many of us love. It's an acoustic song where a guitar and a beautiful string arrangement create a wonderful Christmas flair that is rounded up by female vocals that sing about the joys of Christmas. It has a very soft and loving feeling that plays to the romantic, loving part with the line "And I wonder if you could make my dreams come true and spend it here with me. It's a sweet Christmas love song that makes reference to various activities related to the season such as ice skating, baking, choirs singing, bells ringing... it doesn't get more "Christmassy".
