Story Behind The Song
I was asked to write a song for Dr. Hook that would appeal to young girls ages 13 to 19. I wrote "Young And Woman" for them. But they didn't record it. Then, a company signed it for Linda Ronstadt. But the company was acquired by a larger company before they could get the song to Linda so the rights reverted back to me. Then, Cathy recorded it. I still it's better as a male song.
