Story Behind The Song
I got this idea and actually wrote the song fairly quickly...I was at a public TV telethon, just getting ready to man the phones, when this idea jumped into my head. I ran and found a paper bag to write down the lyric and was ablwe to remember the music until I could find a tape recorder the next day.

Lyrics
A Party Of One by Glenn Warren
I sat back...in the corner...at the party...Friday night;
Got high drinkin' wine...rememberin' the good times...
Of dancin' with you...holdin' you tight;
They woke me when the party was over...
I had to ask one of my friends...
If I had a good time...
Or spent the night cryin' for you once again.
Chorus: It ain't much of a party when you party alone...
Watchin' lovers go dancin' in a world all their own;
It ain't much of a party...when they're havin' fun...
And you're just...A Party Of One.
I'd decline...their invitations...but they only...want to help...
And it's better to be all alone in a crowd...
Than bein' alone by yourself;'
At least, I'm close to some laughin'...
It almost like I'm laughin' too.
But things ain't as funny as they used to be...
When I was laughin' with you.
Bridge: Ooooo...darlin' have pity on me...
If you'll just come back, then you'll see...
Chorus: It ain't much of a party when you party alone...
Watchin' lovers go dancin' in a world all their own;
It ain't much of a party...when they're havin' fun...
And you're just...A Party Of One.
