Story Behind The Song
I came up with this title many years ago. Once we finally got this song demed, it was picked by two different artists for their recording projects, but the projects never were completed. Don and I knew that once that titel hit the street, somebody would steal it. And sure enough, one group wrote a song using our title and then another wrote another song using our title.

Lyrics
Honk...If You Honky Tonk by Glenn Warren and Don Wayne
Last Friday mornin', I was drivin' to work...As usual, runnin' late;
Ziggin' and zaggin' by all that traffic out on the interstate;
Came up on this little ragtop car with an angel at the wheel;
When I saw her bumper sticker, son, I made that rubber squeal.
Chorus: It said, "Honk, If You Honky Tonk"...
And that almost blew my mind;
I hit the horn...She pulled over...
And I pulled in right behind;
I said, "Here I am if a honky tonk man...
"Is really what you want;
"You just name the time and place...
"And baby, we'll Honky Tonk."
She said, "You be down at the Dewdrop Inn...
"Tonight about half past eight;"
It gave me goosebumps on my skin...
When she whispered, "Don't be late;"
I got there early, nearly wrecked my car...
Tryin' to find a place to park...
So I could hurry in and find the girl...
Who was drivin' that ragtop car;
We laughed and danced and had a ball...
'Til sometime past midnight;
I said, "Honey, Can I take you home?"
She smiled and said, "Alright;"
That night we made some memories...
I never will forget...
And I know I owe it all to her...
And that little sign that said...
Chorus: It said, "Honk, If You Honky Tonk"...
And that almost blew my mind;
I hit the horn...She pulled over...
And I pulled in right behind;
I said, "Here I am if a honky tonk man...
"Is really what you want;
"You just name the time and place...
"And baby, we'll Honky Tonk."
