Story Behind The Song
My father and his family are from the East Coast. Prince Edward Island. When I was a little girl, we went there for a holiday. His brother lived by the water and they were musical. I remember running along the beach in the summer when the sounds of fiddles and guitars playing in the house and wanted everything to stay just like that forever.
Song Description
Man goes to the Island and meets a woman and they fall in love. When he returns home he realizes he can't live without her and wants her to leave her homeland to come live with him. She decides she can't live the island - she was born there and loves it.
