Story Behind The Song

Based on a true story. This was inspired by the relationship with my wife (of 28 years) as it developed. We became good friends and fell in love to the point that it was too painful to be apart. I couldn't take one more good bye, I had to ask her to Marry me. Time passes by and you have to seize the moment when it's right.

This song is a love story as it develops -- from first glance to first kiss to best friends. Now it has come to the point that he can't live without her -- he must ask her the question and commit his life to her. This window of opportunity would surely pass if he didn't step forward and ask for her hand in marriage.
