Story Behind The Song
This was a fun song based on life concepts and the fact that I spent so much of my time in a small room working, creating, figuring life out. It was my music room and literally too small for my friends to come over and "sit in" on a jam session. And if I walked outside, the neighbors were often staring at me to see what I was up to now. We called it the neighborhood watch program and in Tennessee it's always in full affect!
Song Description
We all need some Fresh Perspective sometimes and this song helps get you out the door and on your way to a new look at things. Of course there is always the concern of what everyone thinks when we step outside of ourselves in an attempt to figure out what we're really about.

Lyrics
Fresh Perspective
Words and Music by Michael Lewis ©2007
I was lost in thought, found myself thinking
'bout the way I think.
Sittin here in my room, but it's
Not enough room for sittin' in.
If I run, out of room, I can open the door
and I'll run out my room.
But what would my neighbors think? There he goes,
You know he must be right on the brink? But
(chorus) I just need some fresh perspective
about the way life is going
fresh perspective
about the way things are
I need to take my inside out
And look from the outside in
And get some fresh perspective right now.
Is it the way I look, or the way
things are looking back at me?
I am not a crazy driver, but I bet
I could drive you crazy.
If I am full of wonder, does
that somehow mean I'm wonderful? I am wondering.
What do my neighbors think? There he goes again
he must be right on the brink. (chorus)
(Bridge) Some 've got to see miracles, others want
to see your college degree, but when I
lost my perspectives on the floor, I found
the answers to life, while searching on my knees
