Lyrics

Pickin and a Grinnin
verse
I'm going to the station - I hear a whistle blow
I'm going to hop a fright train - and God knows where I'll go
I guess I'll go to Dixie land - that's where I long to be
Pickin and a grinnin - at the grand ole operee
Bridge
I heard down in Nashville - the streets are made of gold
If I get to sing my songs - I know they'll all be sold
I'll sing my songs - where I belong
Then you'll surely see - I'll be pickin and a grinnin-at the grand ole operee
Lead
verse
I said good by to all my friends - my mother and my dad
Brother, sister, sweetheart - I know I made them sad
I'll try my hand ,I'll take my stand - in the state of Tennessee
Pickin and a grinnin - at the grand ole operee
Bridge
I lost every thing I owned - I'm sleepin in my car
But it takes me twenty years - I'm gonna be a star
I'll sing my songs - where I belong
Then you'll surely see - I'll be pickin and a grinnin-at the grand ole operee
Lead
chorus
I'm going to the station - I hear a whistle blow
I'm going to hop a fright train - and God knows where I'll go
I guess - I'll go - to Dixie land - that's where I long to be
Pickin and a grinnin - at the grand ole operee
I'll be pickin - and a grinning - at the - grand - old - oper-eeeeee

Now this the way it's supposed to be done..............By the mix, I'd set it the 1960's
Good vocals nice harmony

I like this song. Nice toe tappin sound. The vocals are great. The harmonies are great too. The lyrics are very good. I like the guitar lead. It's very melodic. The piano sounds nice. It has nice old time honky tonk feel.

I like the vocal and guitar. Good rhythmic song. I like it. The hook is strong and the lyrics flow well. Good length.

Well, I didnt know Johnny's brother was still picking and grining, but heres the proof.
If it takes 20 years-----------ha ha! Cant beat the sound of that bass string on a six string guitar---it can drive the song right along.
