Patrick Simard is a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Ottawa, Canada currently living in Boston, studying at Berklee College of Music on scholarship. He is the 1st place winner of Broadjam's "Happy Song of the Month" competition and has performed throughout North America.

Bio

Recognized by his musical proficiency, passion, versatility, and maturity, 18-year old drummer, vibist, and composer Patrick Simard has recently released his first all-original album "P.S. I Groove You".

Raised in a small town east of Ottawa, Canada, Patrick started playing the drumset at the age of 10. He studied a few years later with drumset teacher and author Chuck Burrows who firmly established his young protege with a solid musical and technical base, introducing him to the possibilities of all music genres, feeding his endless desire to learn.

At 15, Patrick taught himself to play the vibraphone. He also began writing music. At 16, Patrick was playing in clubs, bars, hotels, and a variety of venues playing styles varying from folk, rock, funk, to jazz.

After graduating high school with a 93% average, as well as many performance, composition, and academic awards. At 17, after releasing his first all-original album as a leader "P.S. I Groove You", Patrick currently attends the Berklee College of Music in Boston on a scholarship, from where he will undoubtedly help shape the evolution of music in the years to come.

Élevé à Rockland, en Ontario, Patrick a commener à jouer la batterie à 10 ans, et a vite découvert une aise pour la musique complètement inégalé. En plus de nombreux prix et bourses reçues durant son secondaire pour ses performances, il a gradué avec une moyenne académique de 93%. Maintenant à 17 ans, Patrick étudie avec une bourse au Berklee College of Music de Boston, d'où il participera sans doute à l'évolution de la musique d'aujourd'hui.
