I compose and perform contemporary jazz piano. I am classically trained, having studied with classical pianist Gloria Cheng and composer Miguel del Aguila. I have performed with numerous jazz ensembles in California, including Berkeley’s U.C. Jazz and with guitarist Gary Tobin, whose advice and influence led me to change from purely improvising and reading music to composing my own songs. Since then, I have released four albums of my original pieces. My writing blends inspiration from jazz greats such as Herbie Hancock and Chick Corea with modern influences from smooth jazz, pop, folk, and new age.

Nicholas,

Thanks for reviewing "First Light On The Prairie". It was originally just a simple solo guitar piece, not meant to be anything other than what it is.
