Formed in 2016, Southern California alt-rock outfit Mettle initially emerged as an 80'S and 90's cover band, reinterpreting the songs of artists like Pat Benatar, The Cure, Nirvana, and even Tool. Soon, however, the quartet found they had more to say and transitioned into making their own original music. Started when guitar player Scott Gossett noticed wife Megan Rice's natural vocal abilities, they recruited Scott's cousin Anthony Gossett on bass (forming their own "Van Gossett" - a mini Van Halen inside the band) and Raul Ochoa on drums. As a cover band, Mettle quickly won a local rising star competition to play at the Temecula Balloon and Wine Festival where artists such as Bush, Neon Trees, and Jimmy Eat World have previously performed. Shortly after, the band - who all share a passion for existential philosophy - found that forming their own sound and writing original lyrics was much more interesting. Their style reflects their belief that it's unrealistic to be expected to fit in

Sounds Like: The Cranberries, Pat Benatar
