Bio
JAMES PATRICK MATHIS
SINGER/SONGWRITER/MUSICIAN
I grew up in a musical family. First influenced by my father who was a performing musician and songwriter in Nashville, and he toured in the military and played on stage with Patsy Cline as well as many other prominent artists. This inspired me to take up singing and playing the drums. By age 16, I was performing with my father's band in which I played professionally for 5 years.
During that time I took up writing and recording my own songs while working with various artists which influenced me to pick up the guitar. By associating myself with different engineers and musicians over the years, I have developed my own style of music and I have been writing and recording my own music ever since.
NOW A SERIOUS FRONTMAN AND LEAD VOCALIST FOR A NEW CENTRAL FLORIDA POWER METAL BAND WITH A NEW CD IN THE WORKS AND THEY ARE READY TO UNLEASH THE FURY! PLANNING TO UNFOLD THEIR DEBUT IS IN THE WORKS ALONG WITH A KICKING CD RELEASE PARTY TO BE ANNOUNCED IN 2007.
I've been featured in Broadjam's Top 10 SEVERAL times lately in the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal genre. Thank you to all of the Broadjam fans that have put me there! I have always been inspired as a songwriter. My songs are clean with definitive hooks and I try to convey my feelings and portray situations in which most people have experienced and can relate to. I try to write songs that are not restricted to a masculine or feminine viewpoint, but songs written so that anyone can sing them. If I had to say only one thing about why I love to write, I think it would be that after the song is written, and all is said and done, I can sit back and listen to it and it's like like looking inside myself. When that happens, it gives me great satisfaction and I only hope that my music can inspire others like other people's songs have inspired me. Thanks for looking me up. There's more to come!
