Ken McCoy -"How this man's music remains "undiscovered" at a national level remains one of Canadian country music's unanswered questions" Larry Delaney Editor of Country Music News

In 1985 Ken quit his job and hit the road playing music. He has never looked back. To date, he has written hundreds of songs and recorded and released numerous singles to radio that hit the charts in several countries including Canada, Europe and Australia. Ken has written, produced and released 3 full-length projects including "The Real McCoy" in 91 "Contrasts" in 98 and "Outside the Lines" in 2001. Country Music News rated "Outside the Lines" #7 on Larry Delaney's Delaney's Dozen Top 12 CD's of 2002, and "Contrast's" #12 in 98.
Performing is what Ken enjoys the most. When people approach him with compliments such as "I am not a big country music fan, but I love what your doing" or "Whatever you do, don't quit" it is truly inspirational as it shows they believe in what he is doing. Ken has performed for thousands at music festivals, fairs, rodeos, corporate shows and one-nighters. He has also opened for acts like Diamond Rio, Terri Clark and Alabama. Ken and his band have also donated time and talent to many charities like The Canadian Cancer Society, Firefighters Burn Fund and The Red Cross.

In 2004 Ken released "Prayin' for Rain" donating 100% of the sales of the CD single and airplay royalties to the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The song was inspired by the fires of 2003 that hit British Columbia destroying hundreds of homes and causing millions of dollars in damages.
Ken has had the pleasure to work and record with some of the best musicians in the industry. Included in that list is his band Crosswind, who are three of the hardest working and most talented musicians out there. Tony Del, lead guitar (2003/04 BCCMA guitarist of the year) Mike Nitchie, bass guitar (who has a bachelor's degree in music and nominated for Bass guitarist 2004 at BCCMA's ) and Theo Pire, Drums (nominated for drummer of the year in 2003/04). Ken and the boys' natural talent and dedication have been recognized by the BCCMA over the years with multiple nominations including, Male Vocalist, Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, (Outside the Lines), Single of the Year (Nowhere Town and Georgia on a Fast Train), Songwriter of the Year (Along Came You), Producer of the Year (Outside the Lines) Group of the Year and Country Club Band of the Year. In 2004 at the BCCMA's Ken brought the SOCAN songwriter of the year and single of the year for Prayin for Rain
With over 20 chart hitting singles released to radio to date, countless nominations and awards, a tour schedule that is never ending as well as preparation for an upcoming CD, there is no sign of stopping for Ken McCoy and Crosswind. To see Ken perform live is to truly experience his music. From his skillful song writing, to his natural talent and soulful rich vocals, Ken McCoy is truly, "The Whole Package".
