Andrew Kadin Bio
My life long dream has always been to create music for a living. When I opened Kadin Music in early 2009 I began living the dream. Composing and producing new music daily... it's the ultimate high!
My interest in music started at an early age. When I was six I began taking classical piano lessons andI loved it right away. I would always rush home from school and play the piano for hours everyday. By the age of twelve I began writing my own music and that became my true passion in life. Soon after that I started getting into synths. At age thirteen I saved up my money and bought my first, a Moog Rogue (I still have it). Around that time I started writing and playing with various rock bands but after having a bunch of bad experiences making demos at professional recording studios I began putting together a home studio. It took years to hone my skills, a lot of which I learned from a teacher I met at Berklee College of Music by the name Craig Najjar.Craig taught me a great deal about songwriting and music in general as well as music production. Now fast forward to 2011, I still play in a band, Fools Faith is an award winning eclectic hard rock group, in fact we've just completed our third album. From drum tracking to mastering, it was all done right here.
As well as rock/pop music I also love composing and producing music for film and television. Back in my college years a bunch of my friends were starting out in film and television industry and I was the guy with the home studio. It was a natural fit to compose music for their projects. In my early twenties, I was able to get an internship at 3-2-1 Studios (formerly The Record Plant) in mid-town Manhattan. This was my first exposure to working with a Neve console, every producers dream. After a few months of interning I was hired as an asst engineer but within the year, 3-2-1 closed it's doors. Luckily, my friends were able to get me a job working in television. Although I wasn't officially hired as a composer I became the "go to guy" when many of the producers I worked with needed music in a hurry. In the winter of 2009 I was laid off from my long time television gig and decided to follow my dream and make Kadin Music a full time endeavor.
My training and experience consists of; 10 years of classical piano lessons, 4 semesters at Berklee College Of Music, 3 years of intensive private lessons covering piano, songwriting, composing, arranging, and music production with the renowned Craig Najjar. A one year internship and asst. engineering position at 3-2-1 Studios NYC (formerly the Record Plant).I've worked for the last 15 yrs in the television industry for MTV Networks, running a duplication/edit facility. Daily I worked along side producers and executives, so I feel I have a unique insight on knowing how the television industry works from the inside.
My music has been used in a national TV advertisement for 1-800-OK-Cable, and has been included in shows on MTV, VH1,Nickelodeon, History, HG-TV,Food Network, Bravo, Oxygen etc. I have over 50 television placements to date.I've had several tracks placed in many music libraries incl; Crucial Music, Jingle Punks, Trailer Park Ave, Manifest Music, Human Factor, InDigi Music, HD Music and more.
