About Digit 7
'Digit 7' started playing the drums at a tender age of around 6 years old. While growing up, he continued playing and practicing, studying all the great jazz drummers and building his technique and chops.
" My parents bought my first set. I picked up the sticks, sat behind that little drumset...and well, thats where it all began. And its also where I became hooked ".
Working at a little odd end job, he saved his money and made payments on his first BIG kit off a showroom floor that he still owns to this day. With his collection, he has a total of 3 kits including a set of Roland TD6 V-drums. "I have good versatility when it comes to providing myself with the sound Im searching for".
"Most people where Im living now don't know that Im a drummer..Due to the fact that Im NOT playing for anyone at this time...They associate me with my Trance music, or my picture taking that I also meddle in outside my real JOB..!!
Later on in his life-around 1980- he was introduced to his first synthesizer, a Korg Polysix "I started messing with it, and began creating sounds and music with it right away" . Later on adding a Roland D10 and a Roland Juno 106 made the first steps in the creation of his now project/home studio. See Pics.

"Though most of my demos are under the Trance/ Melodic genre, I listen to and have a background in many music styles and formats". " I don't limit myself to just one style...and try not to shore myself up against the new idea's and possibilities that are out there with all the new technology". Which is another subject that I feel is important. I try not to depend on technology for my creations. It seems that there is a lot of music now done strictly by loop based programing. I try to maintain the originality in my work by still "playing" the instruments and the gear that I have. The rest is used to aid in my work". Nothing like the challenge in miking a set of drums or getting that "room sound"
"I do keep up with all the new gear that is coming out as much as I can. I work another job that has paid and paved my way to creating my 'dream studio". I never get rid of any of my older gear...if there is one thing that I've learned... is that allot of these old clunkers become classics and/or become wanted and used again...sometimes never leaving the circuit".
"Knowing my own limitations is also something I try to be aware of. I constantly seek advice from engineers and consultants from time to time. I try to maintain a standard that -in some parts- has vanished within the last few years. I have a deep respect for the pioneers and knoweldgable ears in this industry". "You can't strive for perfection without the volley of ideas and opinions".
