My name is daniel-q. I am a guitarist and composer from Maine, living almost halfway between the North Pole and the Equator. I have been singing since I could speak, playing guitar for most of my life, and composing music for about half of it.

Music has done many things for me: taken me places I may not have gone to otherwise, helped me through times I may not have gotten through, introduced me to people from all walks of life, and shown me qualities I didn't know I possessed. I hope that the music I create will do the same for just one other person.

When I am not scribbling clefs and time signatures on torn staff paper or hitting the record button, I may be found playing with "Jones'N", a dance/classic rock band with three very talented musicians.

In 2007 I released "When You're Dreaming", a self-produced EP under the name Null Hype. Those songs can be heard here on Broadjam.

Happy listening.

Null Hype's "When You're Dreaming" EP showcases the strong songwriting skills of Daniel Quinlan. It contains a power pop and an acoustic version of the title track, "When You're Dreaming," the driving rock song, "Watching From Orbit," as well as the haunting, acoustic ballad, "Light Years." Influenced by acts, such as Jeff Buckley, Stone Temple Pilots, and the Foo Fighters, Null Hype's music has a great pop feel and familiarity to it. It is characterized by catchy melodies and interesting harmonies. Very radio-friendly and definitely worth a listen!

"Watching from Orbit," is a fast-paced tune driven by an angry, distorted guitar and a bass line that sounds like something from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The song starts loud and ends loud, complete with the little beeps at the end, an effect Null Hype seems to like.

I read on a different website that you guys are from Lewiston, Maine.
If that's true, I'm your neighbor living in Auburn. Out of your three songs here, they kick ass. Can I find your music at Bull Moose? Do you guys play shows in the area?
You should also think about contacting WCYY, I can definitely see "Watching From Orbit" getting airtime on there

When You're Dreaming is available on iTunes, btw. If you'd prefer a hardcopy, you may be able to find it on CD Baby.
