Curtis Macdonald creates a collection of fresh, beautiful new compositions that weave a tapestry of New Age, Nu-Jazz, and Adult Contemporary instrumental into a sound uniquely its own. His lyrical piano melodies and improvised solos compliment each piece with a romantic and soulful approach that has become a signature of his artistic style. Lush transparent electronica is accented by acoustic guitar performed by notable New Age artist John Adorney and vocals by Lucia Iman that caress the soundscape with a hypnotic, heartfelt essence. With its bouncy, pulsating grooves and image-inspiring arrangements, Curtis Macdonald's NEW EverSound CD "Everlasting" sets you in the right mood for any environment.
Thanks for making "As Autumn Falls" from the EverSound CD "Everlasting" a number one song on Sirius Radio Spa 73!
Curtis Macdonald BIO
Curtis S.D. Macdonald, American composer, performer, and music editor for film and television.. His career has been devoted to exploring the relationship of music and technology, creating memorable contemporary instrumental works that are realized by computer, as well as works for computer and live instruments, interactive multimedia, narrative film and video.
The music Curtis creates evokes emotional and passionate feelings. Through his expressive blend of smooth jazz and new age, he stylizes his arrangements with an effervescent and transparent wash of electronica. Passive and hypnotic sustains, filtered expressive pointillism combined with rhythmic grooves create the foundation for the memorable melodies and lyrical improvisations performed with a single voice acoustic piano.
His jazz influences from his upbringing can be heard on the tune “Grean Means Go” from the CD “Grandcascade” amd "Open House" from the CD "Gold Coast" available at CDbaby.com. Essence of Bob James and Dave Grusin with a touch of new school acid jazz makes this a favorite with the cocktail crowd.
His experimental approach to hyperkinetic drum and bass with a new contemporary classical feel creates a reflective mood on the acid jazz piece “Moonglow” from the CD “Promise” also available at CDbaby .com.
“From the first song I was most enamored with his work. It grabs you and pulls you in and doesn't let you go. And with all the electronic sounds going on in the background, he throws in gorgeous acoustic piano that sets the mood for the entire CD. Wonderfully romantic and able to stand on its own, it’s a special sound and he manages to keep you engaged until the end.” JC – New Music Central
