Hey thanks for the critique. Do you know where I may find some better string sounds? I have been looking for months.

hey nina, i went back and listened to that track and some of your other ones too to get a feel for the styles you write in... i think you would do some extraordinary things with either l.a. scoring strings or symphobia I [symphobia II has more "fill in the gaps" type of sounds and is more supplementary to it's predecessor] both cost a pretty penny, but you might be able to buy a used copy for less. either way you can't go wrong. i have tried all the best libraries and these are the best imo. make it a priority to invest in them, it will make you a very happy girl ;) check out some of the demos of these on youtube when you get a chance.

Trevor:

Thanks for your review. To answer a few of your question.

1. We do everything in house. No samples are used in most of our productions but the samples we create from scratch.
2. The glitching is done in 32nds and 64ths while utilizing a cool plugin (its free) called vari-fi for the tape wind ups and downs.
3. Cutting the mud isn't easy when you have a lot of timbres using the same bands. It takes time and is something of a balancing act that you hope to god stays intact through mastering. Its all science. Learning how to manipulate science is a process but well worth the time it takes to learn. Best advice to you would be "Mix for clarity and master with a big stick." Make sure you're not mastering in your mixing stage either. Thats a big "no no."

Anyhow. I hope that answers a few of your questions and am glad our music has inspired so much excitement for you. You can actually download the current EP for free here on broadjam:)

Keep rocking and thanks again for your generous comments on Austin's Catfight Remix. We loved it so much that I had to give him a full time position with the band after that. Its been a really exciting process and one hell of a ride so far. We just hope you enjoy "the process" as much as we have:)

Your review is very much appreciated, and agreed with. What you're hearing as far as quality goes is really the gritty bit crushed bass and lead that i need to bring back towards the cleanly distorted realm. The Wav I have does sound better though! I wish broadjam would allow us to sell high quality downloads like Beatport but I guess they haven't gotten there yet.

ya, it would be nice if they offered higher quality for sure, i haven't seen what beatport offers, but bandcamp has it figured out for sure, very high quality options there, anyway, i think even the best mixes suffer from this effect, we'll keep on keepin on :)

Bandcamp is very cool! I haven't really gotten on that yet but I will eventually. I'm just more of an engineer and a producer, definitely not a marketer. Beatport is awesome for electronic music. They only sell good quality and they have an awesome site you should check it out if that interests you.
