Man guys stopped in to listen some great guitar on "Eternal" and really digging "?" great vibe all thru!! ASOH
Thanks guys, keep fighting the good fight!
Edge of Seventeen? A Stevie Nicks cover? My first thought: WTF? After listening, ...oh yeah! This is REALLY a fine tune with a lot of great elements that made it so. I especially liked the singing around the 2:30 mark, and the quiet part around 3:40 makes the heavy parts seem ultra-heavy and it gives a lot more dimension to this song. I like this much better than the original. Well these two versions are about 179 degrees apart, but knowing the original makes this one even better than cool.
Thanks for the praise! I appreciate it!
man,what an interpretation!very cool johnny
I third that, awesome cover! Man I love doom
thanks ya'll. Gotta love the doom and gloom.
Really diggin the snare sound on "?". Killer tune.
That one came up good, the guy who produced was really particular about the snare. He had like 8 to 10 of them to choose which one would sound best for each song.looking forward to getting back in the studio next year and busting out some more tracks.thanks for the feedback," dead weight" gets regular AirPlay on the iPod..... That song is phat
Hey guys. Congrats on making the top 10! That's awesome!
Thanks guys, hows the album coming along?
Pretty slow at the moment. Our friend who is recording the songs is recovering from a serious health issue so we're waiting for him to fully recover before we get back in the studio and continue. We think the stuff sounds grerat so far. Can't wait to finish everything.
"MNDW" is epic man,i can hear that all over a movie soundtrack.very cool stuff antho!!
Thanks mate, it started as me testing out my new ebow :). But if I ever get my recording legs under me again, I want to expand it
Wow, "?" is awesome! I love your sound, great writing with enough dynamic shift to keep me engaged. Can we have some more bands like you??
thanks antho for the kind feedback.someone reviewed "?" the other day and said "srv and living colour had a baby".was a fun song to record and still is a great song to play live, thanks again and all the best
"all to blame" is a great song man,dig the chord changes in the chorus.just an idea but this tune would sound big with a band behind it,have them kick in as the 2nd verse starts, but sits beautifully as an acoustic piece also
Thanks!! When I envision my songs, I usually see them being played with a band, so I COMPLETELY understand what you're saying. At some point in the near future hopefully I'll be able to throw something together. Thank you so much for the kind words. It means a lot coming from talent like you guys.
thanks for the review joseph on "?",the srv comment made my day :)
Wow TP!!! I keep running into you all over the place, good job again mate!!!
it gets like that on here sometimes lol
I just reviewed "eternal". I just wanted to commend you guys, it was awesome. I really like your music. Keep it up please!
thanks paul, that was just a piece of music i wrote for my wife.it was recorded in between takes for a session i did for another band,i liked how it translated so i through it on here to see how it would go.it's quite a departure from what we normally do and was fun to record(not to mention putting me in the good books with the wife lol).as for your comment regarding the breathing,i did the take and we listened back.we instantly picked it up but it seemed to bring a real honest kinda feel to it.almost like your sitting there in the room with the guitarist(that would be me ),i liked it so we kept it.big thankyou for your review,i was a bit worried what people would say about it but it's nice to know that you enjoyed it.
Got it, Rob. I listened to some of your other stuff, (which was also great!) and figured that it was done that way deliberately considering how polished your other tunes were. Keep it up, you guys have some major talent, and I definitely want to hear more!
hey mike, love the review mate.keep fighting the good fight
doh!just realised i called u mike....im a dumb arse
thanks for the review mate,we only wish everyone had your enthusiasm lol.you know anyone who wants to sign us ha ha,all the best with your tunes man
I think the industry is missing out with you guys. I wish I had that kind of hook up. You would be a done deal headling your on tour here in America. God bless you guys and your work!
touring america?that would be very cool!thanks for your positive feedback, means alot.
hey bud,fellow aussie....cool!
much thanks for the feedback on "gone away",it was one of the first songs we wrote together.wow man,"pandora's heartbeat" is a trip.dig the vibe, all the best with the tunes man
just listened to "the invisible path".....i reviewed it in the peer reviews the other day for the instrumental song of the month.glad i found it,it is a beautiful piece
dude, your track got my rocking out. if it was one of your first tracks you wrote I'm assuming the rest are even better!
thanks for all the feedback, I'm glad you like my stuff! it means a lot. its good to see musos on this site who appreciate diverse styles of music, and are just as eclectic as I am!
"musclebreath" is a great tune my friend, reminds me of early ministry.love the confusion in the first couple of seconds, then that riff kicks in .....nice work!!!!
Hey guitar player great tone! I'm guessing a little more complex than a Strat/Twin combo?
thanks mate, for that song we ran a 53 strat through a badcat.then doubled it with a les paul through a bogner, really wanted to squeeze as much tone out of it as possible.also used a gretsch with the f holes and those big fat tremolo's for the middle eight to get that surf guitar feel.was alot of fun doing that one, thanks for the feedback
thanks for the review mate, all the best
thanks for the review of "eternal" mate.the breathing and chair squeaks we're not intended, but after playback i found it made the piece sound honest and real so i kept it.kinda gives you the feeling that your right there in the room, much thanks for your honesty.all the best
Just listened to '?'... Wow! I love the dynamics throughout the song and the hook is top notch! Nice work and best of luck to you guys. Thank you for your review of 'Marine's Hymn'... I greatly appreciate it.
thanks and thankyou!!!!
You are through the Roof !!! Thanks for your Incredible expression !!!!!
thanx 4 the review!
most welcome mate,all the best.
new song posted up,let me know what you think....it's called "eternal"
"take me" took me back to pink floyds "the wall",hauntingly beautiful mate.well done!!!
Thanks for taking the time out to listen. I appreciate it as well as the praise. It's nice to hear.
hi bud, thanks for the review on "procrastinator".we recorded that in a 4 hour session,it was meant only for a compilation for a local studio but we liked it so much we threw it on here."phats right" is phat....and we know all about phat lol.all the best mate
thanks for the review mate.just listened to your song "perhaps",very cool feel
thanks for the review man, keep on fighting the good fight!
Just reviewed your "?" song, really enjoyed it. I kinda thought it might be you guys. And by the way, thanks for the positive review of my song "Time Flies (Winged Years) from several days back. I appreciate it.
most welcome johnny, the feelings mutual mate.all the best!
Just checked out "Eternal". Very cool, and very different from the stuff I've listened to from you before, the upbeat funk feel stuff. It turned out great! It's always fun to try new genres.
thanks for listening mate, wanted to try something different.it might fit into a nature documentary lol
hey mark, thanks for the review mate.i can see you really listened to the song,it was one of the first we wrote together as a band.the reason we kept it short was we did'nt want it to run into the tool/karnivool typecast, then there would less chance of possible airplay(believe you me i wanted to rip a killer solo over the beginning and end).your song "things you don't show" is very cool, was waiting for the drums to enter at the first chorus....even better at the beginning of the second verse.has that dave matthews feel for sure, look forward to hearing some more.all the best
mate, its a great song! was a pleasure to listen to and review believe me! and thanks for your encouraging words about me tune. i can't wait to do more trust! u guys in aus?
yeah mate, all the way over here lol.can be a good thing and bad thing, the scene in sydney is getting harder to land gigs.there need's to be a revolution i tells ya,how bout u?u in the UK?
yeah in london. my problem is having time to do it all - married, kid and work now! just doing it for fun. i used do gigging when i was younger in bands. twas a good laugh.
i here ya,keeps us sane it does.all the best and good luck bud
thanks for the review les, tunes are sounding solid mate...all the best
Thanks for your review of my music. Love your sounds - bought the EP. Hope to hear more from you in the future. I am hugely into Karnivool, and you have some of that energy...even though the songs are a lot more compact :)
thanks heaps shane,Karnivool are a great band.have you heard ian kenney's new band "birds of tokyo"?
I have heard a few pieces...not so keen on that, though. Maybe revisit, though, because Ian has a tremendous vocal range, and I may be missing out :)
they are more of a commercial approach than karnivool,it has it's moments.you should check out a band that toured with them last year, they're called MM9.google them and have a listen, unfortunately they announced they we're splitting this month but they sure left a trail of great music.one of the best sydney bands i have ever seen live
Thanks for the heads up, guys. Australia certianly seems to be churning our really great stuff lately...or maybe, the rest of the world is only now catching up...I always loved Midnight Oil, ACDC and INXS of course, but there's so much more available if you dig a little harder :)
cold chisel are a staple here, ian moss is one of the most gifted blues guitar players in the country.hell, ireland's got rory gallagher....jimi hendrix was once asked "how does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world?" and he replied "i dont know, why don't you ask rory gallagher!"
hey guys ,we gotta stop meeting like this lol
big thanks for the kind words and review, keep the dream alive
Many thanks for the review guys! In understanding that our album was recorded in the Welsh hills in 1978 you'll understand why I can only say that you've put your finger exactly on the the band and its influences. Good luck to you all over there in 'Oz'. Graham, bassist, Rail 1978.
