thanks for adding my songs in your playlists!
I'd love to know what the venue is.
How was the show on the 18th? Is there any video? Would love to see White Fort live!
It ROCKED! And yes, there are some "amateur" videos that Artyom's brother filmed--I'll try to post them up here today. They had a camera crew out too, but I'm not sure when they'll have the official vids prepared.
Ack, running into file size problems. I'll do my best to put something up...!
After Today - nice tune! Good luck
Thanks Antho, we appreciate the feedback!
I was just listening to After Today as well...I really like it!
Thanks Brian! We're promoting it to UK radio and hope to fill the airwaves with this tune. Fingers crossed!
Here is an interesting interview with Danny Elfman. He details his process scoring and shares some of his methods. Very fascinating. http://www.boingo.org/articles/EMFeb97.html 1
I agree, very interesting reading. Thanks for posting the link!
I drank this article like a milkshake, thanks.
Hey Brian, Hope you're well and thanks for the add! Cheers WB
OK it was the photo that drew me in... But I really like "This Aint Love." There's some really interesting phrasing/timing on the vocals. I almost quit when listening to the intro (really suggest removing/changing), and then the tune kicked in. This really good; it reminds me of 80's Prince in the way the harmonies are done. There's some important vocal production work still to be done but this tune is top notch!
Hey Jeff, thanks for leaving this comment. I went back and listened to the whole song based on your review. The last minute of this This Ain't Love is really good - glad I went back and gave it a second chance. Nice work Zarah!
Thank you both.. Jeff and Brian..
Wrote up a lil blog about some great Broadjam artists/songs I've found. Check it out! http://bit.ly/wwP9oK 1
cool! I like "Rockstar" too. Added it to my Hip Hop playlist.
RIP Whitney,...The Greatest Voice Ever !... so sad...I cry
Oh no! I just heard because of you post Ian. I saw her perform a cappella at a music awards show in the 80s. Absolutely the best voice I ever heard. Very sad to hear the news.
You're quite the song buyer there
Getting there. I'm starting to really like some of the songs in my playlists and wish I had them in the car or wherever. Support the artists you love, right?
Thats an awesome philosophy Brian.
hey brian, thanks for downloading my track track "miles to madrid", I like to keep my tracks for free or pay depending on the listener, you're welcome to grab my tracks anytime if you find others that you like, thanks again !
you're welcome! I like sophistos waltz a lot too, and I'm sure I'll download it soon (doing my downloads by genre right now...)
Hey Shawn, I'll make my comments public so others can tell you "Dude don't listen to that old fart." Overall I'm saying these are very good and marketable efforts that ain't my cuppa tea. As always I enjoy being part of the process. I hope the comments are useful. Best, Jeff Both tunes are not music I'd listen by choice to style-wise; but that's just a personal taste qualifier. Nightfall is well-done with ballsy aggressive guitar a la Godsmack, Tool, System of a Down etc. I'd drop the keyparts because they give a Europe "Final Countdown" wimpiness in an otherwise manly tune LOL. On this player and online format the bass doesn't sound big enough to me. This tune kicks butt but to be honest I think your voice is too pristine for this kind of song--it gives the overall effect of Kansas progrock like Kansas rather than the usual effect. I really like the bridge "sunrise...". If you were out to please me then I'd say back off the rectifried guitar a bit, drop the double-kick and make this heavy melodic rather than sensitive kickass. Porcupine Tree is a great example of a heavy approach with more "pretty" vocals. Goodbye is like a Nickelback tune to my ears. This tune doesn't grab me at all. But again I lean toward alternative rather than mainstream sounds. It's a very polished tune and a good soundtrack and modern rock playlist candidate.
"t gives the overall effect of Kansas progrock like Kansas rather than the usual effect." In English: It makes it sound like 70's progrock (Kansas Boston Yes) as opposed to tattooed biker rock (grandchildren of Lemmy).
I very much so appreciate your time, and honesty is the best reply I can ask for. I thrive on the constructive stuff.
Hey Shawn, since folks seem to be talking about preference in these threads I'll throw it out there that like Jeff I prefer One More Nightfall over Goodbye, but unlike him I would keep the keyboards (but maybe with some more meat in them). And I lose the theme a bit in the bridge, where Jeff seemed to like it best. If we're comparing the songs to other bands' work I guess I would say I like Lincoln Park better than most new Rush and that's the pair of domains I see the two songs falling into. As usual, though...great job! Love your music.
with jeff on this one....but i see a lot of comments about voice matching songs....that's huge. It's an instrument and it's important (at least in my opinion) to match the vocal tone to the mix just as much as you would the guitar tone.
I feel so blessed to have such great feedback from you all. Thank you! I will consider each and every suggestion very carefully.
do think that Goodbye is a well written tune and a good arrangement. Nightfall is really intense and I like how you blend sounds that are considered outside the genre of the song. You're obviously incredibly talented, and I would like to see you focus on a sound that's undeniably you and leave the rest of your songs for separate projects (not to say that you should stop writing those....write everything that comes to mind!)
Argh, it's just embarrassing to have spelled Linkin Park "Lincoln Park". I guess I'll blame it on my spell checker. :-) The point was just that Chester Bennington frequently uses a "sweet" non-growling style but it still works for me with the hard sound of LP.
THANK YOU BRIAN FOR YOUR REVIEW OF "IT'S JUST NOT FAIR". I AGREE WITH IT NEEDING MORE ENERGY. IT WAS A ONE TAKE DEMO 11 YEARS AGO AND I AM JUST NOW LOOKING TO IMPROVE IT. I THANK YOU FOR YOUR ADVICE AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR MUSIC. RON WATKINS.

Hi Janet From Brian. Testing 1 2 3. This is a test of a longer sentence. At some point in the sentence it should be replaced with an ellipsis.
