Thanx for friending me & in turn introducing me to your music, quite impressive stuff here, you all should be proud. I find it amazing how much good music can be found here as opposed to laboring through what is on the national charts.
Bob, thanx for rating a couple of my songs, it is appreciated. You have some very impressive music on your page, well done.
You're welcome!
Scott, thanx for the nice review, it was quite unexpected with that song especially considering the subject matter. I like your songs here. Donny Vosen
Hey Donny thanks and your welcome. Your song is compelling and heart felt and so very sadly true. I enjoyed the listen and I'll have to check out some more of your music. All the best. Scott
Hi Donny, Thanks for a kind review of Dance Hall Of Dreams. It's getting on in years but was written in the days I managed a theatre and ballroom. The ballroom still had tea dances some afternoons and the song was inspired by a very elegant couple, well in their 80's, who were still clearly devoted to each other and who's lives had revolved (no pun intended) around the ballroom. One of the high points of my life was when I performed it during an afternoon concert in the theatre to an audience "of a certain age" who really took it to their hearts. Wonderful memories! Thanks again, Bob
Nice One Mr. Don! Didn't know they had blues in Minnesota way up there! Ha ha Just kidding I'm from Detroit! catnip=+=
Hi Donny, thank you for a very kind review of Days Of Mystery. I'm extremely flattered by your comments in relation to Hugh Prestwood, someone I was not aware of. However, I checked him out and the first song I played was Trisha Yearwood's The Song Remembers When and was blown away completely! So I owe you a vote of thanks for that alone!! He has written some top songs, so any comparison is praise indeed. It's all very much appreciated. Bob
"The Honey and the Sting" is the best song The Stray Cats never wrote!
Hi, Donny. I stopped by to listen to some of your songs. They have the down home storytelling quality spiced up with some of the minstrel style of song, as when Gordon Lightfoot wrote "Steel Rail Blues" and "Early Morning Rain," songs that tell about human frailty without judgment, but also of important things in life without preaching, whether of a cajun girl you don't mess with, getting knocked over by whiskey, the measure of a heart, and a plea for Americans to get together again. Your analogy of a heart being small like a coffee cup but so big you can't fill it up is a wonderful line! I'd like to thank you for dropping by and giving stars to "Far From Home." I'll be sure to listen to some more of yours as well. Took me awhile to get back on here as I have mounted my computer's monitor to the wall so I can very easily see it without slouching, and we got doughnuts. Doesn't take much to excite me these days! All the best to you! John
John, thanx for the wonderful review, it was rather humbling but sure made me feel good. I like your outlook on life. Donny Vosen
Thank you Donny for the praise for "You Always Get Your Way". I'm honored to be able to work with some awesome musicians in the North west...Marvin
Patrick, thanx for the wonderful review. Yes, feel free to play it for your band. I quite impressed with your music, btw, Donny Vosen
Nice Sound Idea and Thank YOU! We're in a magnetic moment right now and we need to SLOW DOWN before we get a PANIC ATTACT TICKET! Me? I got too many already and now I'm just waiting for the Election that will either make us Great or Kill Us! catnip=+=
You got me again Donny! Thanks for the kind review of Dark Eyed Lady, good recommendation too for reducing the length. It's the only song where I've commissioned an online vocalist to sing it, I had vocal cord issues at the time. He did a great job, I wish I could find a budget to have all my songs recorded by pro vocalists. Much obliged. Bob
Hi Donny Thank you for the kind review of my instrumental track Hometown. I like the brevity of your review. Thx again! Best Ante
Ante, I was quite impressed.
Hi Donny, Thanks for taking the time to write a kind review of Rolling On, it's much appreciated. It's getting on in years now and never quite made an impact, but I like it's simplicity. As we've never been in touch before I was interested in the sort of songs you wrote and performed so picked one at random. I picked The Measure of a Heart and was mightily impressed - and also surprised by how few song plays you've had! Great writing, vocal and instrumental skills. Good luck with your projects. Cheers, Bob
Bob, that song sounds very much like a Hugh Prestwood write & performance both. Very impressive. I've given it a number of listens. Donny Vosen
Very flattering, thank you.
