I would like to share my unfortunate work experience with Mr. BOB LAMPKIN and the company he represents "WLS MEDIA GROUP, LLC" (WORLD LANGUAGE STUDIOS). This company, that offers post production services, is based in ATLANTA, GEORGIA. I am a voiceover talent, based in Lima, Peru. Mr. BOB LAMPKIN has contacted me through e-mail. In November 2016, I was asked to voice some videos in Latinoamerican Spanish for a health brand (at that time, I was promptly paid for my services). Then, in January 2017, Mr. BOB LAMPKIN asked again for my voiceover services, for which he indicated that, this time, he would pay at the end of the project. Having had the first experience as a base, I proceeded to provide my service. Unfortunately, one year has passed and the person in question has not kept his word. After countless emails and calls, this person told me that the end customer did not pay him. Great was my surprise when I could get in touch with the clients (I will kept the brand unnamed to show respect for them) and they have indicated that, indeed, they had already paid Mr. BOB LAMPKIN for the services in July of 2017. This mean that Mr. BOB LAMPKIN HAD LIED, deliberately omitting to pay for my work. A year has passed, and he was given multiple options and payment facilities, but he never honored his word and only made a deposit of 5% of his debt. This is outrageous, and therefore, I inform and advise my colleagues to be careful and not establish any working relationship with the person or company aforementioned. Thanks for your attention.
Thanks for the thoughtful review. I enjoyed your L'antica Danza. Great work.
Thanks Bob, I enjoyed doing the review!
Bob, just listened to Andante Romance & Wonder. What a great track. Really like the melody. Would like to hear a longer version of that same piece. Very nice work here!!
Hey man, I appreciate the feedback. Pulling double duty experimenting with a new sound library and getting my chops back after being on hiatus for a few years. Which sample libraries do you use?
Sounds great! I've been using East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra for my orchestral sounds. The installation process is a little difficult but the library is amazing (really like it). I have the Gold version of that library and I love it. I am also using Vir2 Mojo Horn Section for bigband/jazz/funk sounding horns and it's fantastic for that. I'm also a big fan of the Spectrasonics stuff for more modern sounds for grooves and synth things (Omnisphere and Sytus RMX are fantastic). Best of luck to you Bob. Feel free to send any questions about these libraries.
Bob thanks so much for giving a 5-star rating to my song The Desert. I really appreciate it. I listened to some of your tracks and you are a great composer. Very professional work you are doing. Best of luck to you!
Excellent work you've to here. Thanks for your feed back on my piece-Prayer. Take good care. T Tarpley
thx for the review. Kate
You're welcome Kate.
Bob, in reference to your review of The Magical Mr. G, I would like to say that I reserve 1's for the worst of the worst. I assume that you think this song is one of the worst on broadjam. When you give such terrible scores you are supposed to give constructive criticism to help the composer/arranger advise on how to make the music better. You did not do that. Your only statement was: "The major draw back for this piece is the sound of the synth instruments." I thank you for taking the time to do reviews but you are missing the point, which is to help other musicians better themselves. I'm sorry you do not like my music.
Hey Paul, Thanks for writing back. I apologize for any offense. I'd like another stab at it if I may. The synth guitar at the beginning is reminiscent of sounds I recall from the movies like Mortal Combat from 1990 or earlier maybe as far back as Terminator (1). The synth violins are an interesting touch. With the asian type staccato pentatonic motif, they really do put me in the mindset of an older action film ca. 80's early 90's. This could be a good homage to that genre and era of film scoring. The rhythm held by the lower strings from 1:18 are in a hemiola pattern almost latin, but in any event it makes for a very interesting east meets west kind of pairing. There is some intense musicality here. Multiple meter signatures, varying timbre etc. The challenge for me as a lover of natural instruments is the selection of synthesizer instruments over natural ones. That however is very subjective, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Thank you for the additional input.
Gostei do Paraiso tambem. E optimo!!
