Saw the comments about Flowers and Chocolates and thought I'd have a listen. I enjoyed it, cleverly original while being a bit Ian Druryfied! Not much of that sort of music comes around now, very refreshing Phil.

Sorry to see from your scores that you don't want to here anymore of my songs , but after listening to some of your stuff , it's quite clear that we are worlds apart . Although like you , I have also been in the final of the UK Song writing contest , had Broadjam chart number ones etc , so at least we have something in common . Don't know about you , but I'm always fascinated about the way songs are received by different people . Interestingly , the last critique for Flowers and Chocolates , scored 50 out of 50 , and was oozing with compliments . That doesn't make either one right or wrong , that's just the way it goes . Decision was made purely on genre. It has a great Englishness about it. The comment about Dury was a complement. Keep going.

Hi Kirk , interesting review of Time Is On My Side . I must admit , you lost me with the technical points you raised , but I have a vague idea of where you're coming from . Shame about some of the low marks about the quality of the lyrics etc . It's actually a cover version of the song that was a number 6 in the American charts in 1964 , by The Rolling Stones . Guess they were easily pleased back then .....
It may be more that the lyrics are not very clear so they can't be understood. What DAW do you use. Maybe I can help you a little?

Thanks for the lovely review of Never , Michael ! Are you from Bembridge on the Isle of Wight ? If you are , I worked for Warners there , in the early 80s .
Hi Phil, Yes, I live in Bembridge. I stayed at Warners on my first visit to the Island in 1966. It became Harcourt Sands but closed down in 2006. It's been pulled down now and they will be building 168 houses on the site. Bit of a shame really. Cheers.
Warners is still going at Bembridge Michael , did you mean Harcourt Sands closed down ? Our local was the Crab & Lobster , lovely little pub .
Yes, warners became Harcourt Sands. Warner's Bembridge Coast Hotel is good since it had a lot spent on it about 12 or 13 years yes, I go to the Crab and Lobster quite a bit.
