Yes, great song i agree with Brandi.
Thank you so much! You're incredibly talented. Wishing you all the best with your book--can't wait to see it!
'Heal A Broken Heart' is a great song. Great composition choice too. You got a little magic to share lyrically! Keep writing!
Thank you so much. Just testing the waters. I have written a couple of books so I thought I would try lyrics. You have so many songs! I am definitely going to be listening. 'Love On My Own', awesome.
Thank you! With the talent, drive, and commitment to write books, I bet lyrics are a real treat! You get to tell stories in a fraction of the time.
Lol! You're right : )
Really enjoyed listening to your song! Great job.
You are so talented! So many songs to listen too!
Thank you.
Chet, thank you for your 5-star rating! I love the blues, classic rock and old country. This was my first attempt at writing lyrics. I am amazed at the talent you seem to have been blessed with and have had all your life! Amazing! I will definitely be listening to more of your songs!!
You are welcome...
Thanks for the stars on "Boen Again". I appreciate it! MKP
OOPS! Born Again. Should have put out that joint before posting. MKP
LOL!
Are there any musicians out there that make music any more without A I? I can't seem to find on on Broadjam any more..... Sorry if that's your thing - but what happened to the organic musicians that used to write and perform????
Are you NUTS!! I write everything and have a copy of everything in my DAW. I decided a while back that my goal was to make the best-sounding song possible. After I write EVERYTHING (lyrics and music) and record it in my DAW, I run my demo through AI because I can't afford horns or background singers or a studio to record. AI produces my song and does the mix. All the guitar riffs you hear in my music I WROTE; most of the solos are played note for note, so don't go saying I don't write or perform. I don't go to your job and kick the bedpan out of your hand. Don't talk about something you know nothing about!!!! MKP
I agree with Memphis Kenny P. I write all my own lyrics...always have. I played guitar, sang, and wrote songs for 60 years. But now that I have arthritis in my fingers and my singing doesn't cut it anymore, I'm enjoying the ability to still create music with the AI tools. And with my added violins, bass, cellos and even vocals and guitar where I can in my DAW, I've completed the creative process for myself. If you don't like it, just don't listen to it. BTW, I don't accept someone calling themselves songwriters who push one button and out pops a song from AI (with crappy lyrics I might add). Those people should not consider themselves song "writers" in my opinion. Just sayin'.
Same here. I've spent thousands recording in Nashville and Texas and upstate NY studios and have made next to nothing because they don't take "outside cuts". Well, I write my words and music and use AI to produce my songs now. It saves me a fortune and gives me personal satisfaction. I love using studio musicians, and I have given plenty. The problem is the industry has never given anything back. At least if they turn my songs down now, I'm not out thousands of dollars any more.
Never meant any disrespect to anyone. I've been on Broadjam for 20+ years. Now almost every song sounds over-produced and has the 'signature' AI sounding guitar and drum tracks. Previously, this platform was used for unsigned artists showcasing their original material. While the recording back then was far from polished, it had an authentic feel to it. Now, it's 90% prompters putting AI 'WRITEN' and 'PERFORMED' songs. I have no problem with using AI to finish or 'polish' a song. I use AI plug-ins for some mastering and even vocal replacement but I write my own music and lyrics - and play my instrumentation or have guests in my studio lay down tracks. I guess this is the future of music these days...
Mitch Cooper, no disrespect taken. I think we're just outlining writing from our own perspective. From what you say, I think I'm basically on the same page with you. There is such debate about this changing world of music. I've lived both sides...played, sang and wrote my tail off for 60, and If I use AI for 40/50% of my songs with instruments and vocals, I'm ok with that. My only other option is to stop writing completely...and that ain't going to happen. Take care
I do think you disrespected me! If a song sounds good, what do you care about how it's written or recorded? If you don't like it, don't listen to it. I'm tired of people trying to tell other people what to do and how to do it. Do you remember the crap sampling started, and now it's in all kinds of stuff. The horse-and-buggy people fought very hard to keep automobiles from being sold, and now everyone has a car or truck. It's technology. You can't stop it. Why would you want to? You do what you want to do and any way you want to do it, but don't complain about how others do theirs. I'm sorry, but you struck a nerve! I write my songs, and who the hell are you to tell me how to record them? MKP
My publisher in LA said that any of her writers that use AI for ANYTHING will be dropped from their catalog. She said she wants songs that are only 100% real musicians. The thing she doesn't realize is, probably 90% + of her current catalog has music with drum machines, samples, string machines, harmonizers, fake horns, bass etc. The only difference is they don't refer to that as AI. Apparently a real person still programmed the drum and string machines, harmonizers etc. I guess they don't realize real people also created the AI software programs. Probably some of the same people who programmed drums and strings etc. If that's the case this publisher should dump almost their entire catalog because those programs were used to replace real live musicians. Just saying, it will all come down to the money. The record companies didn't mind replacing expensive orchestra's with a keyboard and take work away from hundreds of musicians. I would image soon movie companies will hire a couple staff writers and us AI to do most of the music in house. I would prefer to use all live musicians, but cost wise that's not possible. You can spend thousands of dollars producing a few songs with all live musicians in a great studio with a good producer that sound great only to have the publishers say, what else ya got?
I have experienced just the opposite regarding AI from publishers. My publisher actually talked to several sync licensing and film supervisors about this issue with AI and they all said it didn't matter as long as it fulfilled their musical needs. So there's that...
Glad to hear some are open to it. I think soon they will have no choice not to accept it. If not they may start losing out placements top other companies.
I got the impression from "One Night Stand" publishing that lyric's, music and vocals all created by AI was not acceptable.
This is my first attempt at songwriting, and I've really enjoyed the creative process. I have a passion for writing lyrics, and although I don't compose music or sing, I use AI as a tool to help bring my words to life. It allows me to hear how my lyrics might sound when paired with music and melodies, which has been a wonderful way to explore this new side of my love for writing.
