Story Behind The Song
Based on a dream I had. I was a bellboy in a fancy hotel. The desk clerk yelled at me to bring some luggage to a room. I went running and rounded a corner and ran smack dab into someone and knocked her down. I picked her up and it was a past love. She was dressed in a blue evening gown, wearing a tiara, and had a sash around her that said Miss America. I said Hi, she said Hi and I woke up.

Lyrics
MY MISS AMERICA
My Miss America wants to see America on her own
My Miss America wants to see America all alone
And I say
Roll out the red carpet
Tip your hat to the lady son
Smile at her like you mean it
As if the lady's heart could be won
My Miss America wants to see America on her own
My Miss America wants to see America all alone
And I say
Roll out the red carpet
Rolling into town in your fancy limousine
Every head turns to look at you
If they should ask me "Who's that lady with the grand piano smile?"
I'll tell them that's a girl that I once knew
And then I'll tell them
My Miss America wants to see America while she's free
My Miss America wants to see America without me
And I say
Roll out the red carpet
