Baristacide is a post-punk post-pop post-office band from Madison, WI. The band produces mind-numbingly painful pop melodies and bizarre-yet-catchy lyrics inspired by Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Joy Division, Devo and other less respectable artists.
By combining powerpop, new wave, goth rock and loads of pop rocks and cola, Baristacide mercilessly delivers intoxicating melodies with mindless lyrics, all wrapped in a whole-wheat tortilla of punk amateurism. In this way, Baristacide aims to appeal to the lowest common denominator of popular music.
Danceable yet a little bit disturbing, the music will leave audiences begging for more and perhaps also in need of open-heart surgery. Baristacide is artsy yet whorish. The sound is sunshine and rain. The performance is Heaven and Hell. Capes and boots. North Korean grooves. Rocks and rolls. We know that's not very helpful, but you should have given up reading this blurb by now.

Welcome To Baristacide
Baristacide is a retrogoth punkpop project based in Madison, WI. We specialize in mind-numbingly painful pop melodies and bizarre-yet-catchy lyrics inspired by Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Cheap Trick, Devo and other less respectable artists.
Our sound is danceable yet a little bit disturbing. We will leave audiences begging for more and perhaps also in need of open-heart surgery. We are artsy yet thuggish. We are sunshine and rain. We are Heaven and Hell. Capes and boots. Peanuts and allergies. Rocks and rolls.
Like an alien bursting from the chest of The No and Maybe Game, Educational Davis birthed Baristacide in 2010 at an impromptu solo gig at The Wisco. Armed with only a guitar, Eddy crooned in the vocal style of Iggy Pop while making up nonsense songs on the fly. Instead of recoiling in disgust and horror as expected, the crowd got into it.
Soon Eddy was joined by veteran TNAMG drummer Jonny Sucrose, Poncho Pilot of The Penfield Mood Organ and Madison newcomer Van Mojo, and the seeds of pop music's destruction were planted.
