Southern expatriot residing in the adopted home of chicago. Currently recording and producing a range of artists in chicago as well as my own stuff. The music is perpetrated live mostly by my favored musicians, THE EMBASSY. My music is one large argument against the idea that singer songwriters must be tied to stale feels and rhythms in order to get their point across. I am in mad crazy love with noise and strange instrumentations. As far as subject matter, my songs examine life as it is seen when things are too strange or broken down to be overly romanticized. There is humour and sex , death and coffee ....somewhat in that order.
experimental grump-pop explorer
eddie dixon is a relentless experimenter and songmaker/producer. The songs are pop but filtered through a wry humor and southern wit before being fitted into adventurous sonic suits. There is a philosophy at work here that singer-songwriters shouldn't let dour electronic artists and fussy artistics be the only people pushing sonic envelopes.
