Welcome To Durable Music. Glad you're here!
I like to think of this site more as a musical journal rather than just a collection of songs and humorous skits. If you would like to discover who I am, what my vision is and what it is that makes me tick, then listen to my music. You will hear someone who is passionate about people and his God. So feel free to pull up a chair, kick back, grab a cup of joe and stay awhile. I appreciate the fact that you stopped by.
Thanks for listening.

WANT A NEW ATTITUDE?
DID YOU KNOW A THANKFUL HEART CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE?
It's true! If you approach your day with a thankful attitude, you will have a much more positive outlook on life. Start a list and thank God every day for what you have.
On my song page you will find a "Spoken Word" which is called "PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING". These are choice scriptures that will give you a fresh outlook on what God has really done for you!
A thankful attitude will:
-Change your perspective
-Turn you into an optimist
-Give you good health (body, soul and spirit)
Most of the music you will hear on this site is designed to encourage and lift you up. Give a listen or buy a download for 99 cents. It will be the best 99 cents that you'll spend and it could change your life!

The Power Of Thanksgiving
9-21-05
What are you thankful for? Have you made a list? If not on paper, how about mentally?
I believe that being thankful is one of the most powerful weapons that we have to defeat the devil. Let's face it. He would love us to complain. The Israelites certainly did after God brought them out of the land of Egypt. (See Ex. 16)
God loves it when we are thankful. 1 Thes. 5:16-18 says "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks. For this is the will of God".
Our whole perspective changes when we are thankful. It is so easy to see what we do not have rather than seeing what we do have. For instance. I could be walking through my neighborhood and see a man mowing the lawn with one hand because his other is missing. I could say "thank you Lord that I have two hands instead of one".
I have said this before and I will say it again. If I have fifty things to be thankful for and I thank God for those fifty things everyday, by the end of the day I will be the richest man in the world!
It is all perspective - you see?
I encourage you to listen to "Prayer Of Thanksgiving". This is the spoken word with God speaking to us His word and we pray His word in response. (This is available for download)
I encourage you to burn it to CD, download to an MP3 player etc. and listen to it over and over again until you get Gods word of thanksgiving deep down into your spirit. "Praise Working" is a song about losing my job in 2003. This will encourage you as well.
Be thankful and do not let the enemy get the foothold of complaining into your life.
"But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (1 Cor. 15:57)
My take
Optimism
9-17-05
Let’s face it. I am an optimist. I can’t help it – that is just the conviction that God has placed in my heart. I see the best in people and believe that if they really seek God’s plan for their life, they will succeed.
I like to use the example of my daughter when she played high school basketball. She comes to me and says “Dad, I really want to be on the high school basketball team this year. What do you think"? Now what should my response be? Keep in mind that my daughter is the smallest girl on the team and it would be tempting to start out with a realistic answer. It could go something like this. Realism. “Well honey, All of these girls on your team are much taller than you are and it sure is going to take a lot of work for you to excel and even think about possibly making the team and maybe make second string. Pessimism. I don’t know – the more I think about it, I don’t think you can do it”.
But what if I start out with optimism. My answer could go something like this.
“You know honey, I think you can do anything that you put your mind to. Your mom and I believe in you and that you are more than capable of making the team”. Then to realism. “But you must understand, it is going to take a lot of hard work and extra practice to be able to keep up with these other girls”. Then back to optimism. “If you do that then you will succeed”.
Do you see the difference? You set the tone with people. If you start out with an optimistic outlook, you can then gently fall back on the realistic side of things.
However, If you start out with the tone of realism, you are setting the tone for pessimism and ultimately failure!
