Justin was raised in “The Cowboy Capital of the World” Bandera, TX. He grew up watching his father make records and sing in Country and Rock & Roll bands all across Texas, which made him realize at an early age, that he also wanted to be in the spotlight someday himself.
Even though he had music in his blood and his parents encouraged him to sing, he went against everyone’s wishes and chose to chase that spotlight with a motorcycle-racing career, which started at the age of 8 years old. After 20 years of racing, Justin finally made it to the professional level, racing in the AMA Camel Super-cross and Mickey Thompson Ultracross Series. After 3 years of steady progress and now a threat to make the final 20 for every main event, an injury that almost cost him his life, rendered him paraplegic ended his racing career as well as his dreams. Life as he had lived it now was a distant memory and instead of competing as a pro-athlete, he was now paralyzed

While racing professionally, Justin broke his back in a moto-cross race. He was rendered paraplegic and doctors told him he would never walk again. Justin had several realizations during his two months in the hospital. One realization was that he didn’t understand how he could make a seventy-foot jump on a motorcycle a Super-Cross event, and yet be so afraid to sing in front of people. Another realization was that he refused to accept the doctor’s opinion that he would never leave a wheelchair. These two factors became inextricably related. Justin became determined to walk again and to begin a singing career. He now walks without any assistance, and he has been singing Country and Southern Rock for about eight years now, six years with his current band Texas Attitude.”
