A JOURNEY WITH MUSIC

I was introduced to music by my mother - from before I was born. She always had a radio on - transistor, auto, in-home. She listened to various genres of music including country and Gospel, but primarily Top 40

I first played a musical instrument (clarinet) at age 8 in Elementary school in New Jersey, moving to trombone the following year. The next year - 1962 - my family was transferred to SoCal and shortly after entering another Elementary school and turning age 10 I picked up a pair of drumsticks. Haven't put them down since - 60+ years later

I played throughout the remainder of Elementary school into my Sophomore year of High School - Band, Orchestra, Swing Band, Jazz Band, Dance Band, Rock Band, Marching Band. I played professionally at lounges and clubs at age 14 (I was snuck in the back door) and other independent gigs (including campaigns of politicians). Then, other activities - primarily sports, primarily Football - began to dominate my life. I did, however, start college as a Music Major, switching to Business by the time i graduated. During that time of study of music, I was introduced to Piano for the first time. I returned to it some 40+ years later

Still, through all of life's events, music was always the framework of my life - various genres through the 60s, 70s, 80s, and on...in addition to the piano, I began studying Electric Bass,
guitar, and the Theory of Music through Berklee

Of late, I have delved into composing and recording original tracks as well as covers of
established songs
