About

Shane Martin is a talented singer/songwriter with the rare ability to compose songs the audience can identify with about real-life events, emotions, and personal experiences. "My goal as an artist is to hit home with my songs and performances where people can relate and say, "I've been there, I hear you, and I know that feeling' when hearing my songs," - Shane.

The Minneapolis native has been performing around the mid-west region for over 14 years and for the last several years has consistently played over 150 performances per year headlining his talent as a solo artist. The singer/songwriter has been called the "One Man Band". As a solo act he simultaneously plays acoustic guitar, bass pedals and tambourine with his feet, all while singing. Adding in a guitar loop, harmonica and other percussion instruments creates a unique experience and full sound. Shane also showcases with his full band performing with high energy, experienced musicianship, vocal harmonies, and percussive grooves.

Shane's musical background started at a young age playing piano, sketching out song ideas, and crafting lyrics. He was inspired by melodic and chorus filled songs and felt compelled to create his own. By learning to play guitar by ear, he started to have a creative connection and passion with playing and singing. The aspiring artist soon found himself starting a rock band with friends from school and began playing a few club shows and house parties.

As an emerging regional talent, the young singer/songwriter self-released his first solo album in 1998, "Moody Waters". This six song acoustic e.p. featured the song "She Could Cry In Heaven", which appeared on the television show "The Young and the Restless".

From 2000 - 2003 Shane fronted the rock group "Faith Nation" and
warmed up for Bands / Artists such as: Peter Frampton, Styx, REO Speedwagon, The Guess Who, and Great White, to name a few. In early 2003 Faith Nation disbanded and Shane went right to work on his next solo album.

The singer/songwriter's 2005 sophomore release "Thread" was co-produced and recorded with Levi Seacer from Prince's The New Power Generation.
.
Shane's new release "Rewind" was recorded in Nashville with EMMY award winning engineer /producer Kenny Royster. "Rewind" features a collection of songs showcasing Shane's unique style in the modern rock/country crossover genre and has captured the attention of music critics and music lovers alike. The album's first single "Somewhere Real" sets the tone and sums up Shane Martin as an artist getting back to his small town roots and writing songs from the heart, real life experiences, and genuine emotions.
