The Story So Far.........
I guess music came to me as opposed to me finding it, when i was sixteen and after being a naughty boy, my dad threw this guitar at me and told me 'Do something f-ing useful with your life' so..... all arsey and rebelious i picked up this guitar and started to make a right noise with it.
After around ten minutes or so, i found i actually liked the sound and started to experiment the fret board notes, it progressed further when i started to play individual notes to songs, i then was given a chord book and started to teach myself a few basic chords, and that was the start.
Over the years i had just been plodding along, playing my guitar when i felt like it and putting it down when i got bored, then..... christmas 2005 i played my guitar at my friends house and sang a few tunes, everyone told me that they thought it was great and why i wasn't doing music for a living. Well i took it that they were just being polite and kind and left it as that, i was then asked to play at a party in the January and i knew only one person there, after i had had finished, a i was surrounded by people asking me when i'm on next etc...etc. With this in mind i decided to write some of my own music and see what i could come up with.
I went out, bought a load of basic gear for a home studio and started writing, i had to learn the keyboards along the way, understand time signature amongst other things, playing my own bass lines, drum riffs etc, but i really enjoyed the time spent doing it. I had finished writing my first song in the end of April 2006 and recorded it as 'Robots' a song to which alot of people could relate to leaving school and not having the faintest clue what direction to take.
Well that was it then, i had got the bug and on the back of Robots came 21 songs in very quick sucsession, had all 21 recorded by the end of May 2006 and since i have written a further 17 to add to my collection.
I have never had a guitar lesson, singing lesson, keyboard lesson nor have i ever been in a recording studio, i am self taught in all diciplines of the music that you hear from me, something to which i am very proud of and even if i don't get anything physical from it, i know in my heart that what i have done is great acheivement in itself, it proves that no matter who you are or which walk of life you come from, we all have the gift of creativity within us, it just needs to be let out.
