Bio

"The Atomic Blue is one of the best acts I've seen yet. It's amazing that a trio can create such a huge sound, and send so much energy towards an audience."
-Dave Ritter, THE GIST

Rock has a new name, The Atomic Blue. Made from a touch of alternative and classic rock, the grit of hard rock mixed with the grooves of funk, and the simple but powerful feel of punk and the heartaches of blues influences the sounds of The Atomic Blue. The attitude of the band can be phrased as, "down to earth" and "easy to get along with", but their stage presence is that of a boulder falling from the mountain tops, and it's contagious. The professionalism of this band is noticeable as they sweat away in their rhythms. Over the two years that The Atomic Blue have been gigging around Wisconsin and it's neighboring states, they have gained nothing but respect from fellow artists and the people that matter most, the listeners. Confident, hardworking, and highly entertaining describe this band best. The Atomic Blue does not disappoint and thrives on the energy of the crowd.

The Atomic Blue formed in a dark basement in 2005. Singer/songwriter, Brad Hennig, 29 (AKA Mr. Strumwell), moved to Madison seeking to start a rock band and along the way he met bassist extraordinare Leroy Wipperfurth, 24 (AKA Loudmouth). The two hit it off and started sharing riffs and molding new tunes together instantly. After a year and a half stint with a drummer from another mother, The Atomic Blue needed to make a step forward. Entering into the picture was rock solid tempo machine Andrew Rupnow, 26 (AKA, Drewliscious). Andrew's experience falls back into the depths of his younger days where he learned from some of the best and had a good run with his former band, Skip the Middle Man. With the introduction of Andrew to the band, it didn't take long for the sounds to start rolling. What the band has is a great nucleus of energy and an artistic expression bursting from the seems. Determination and great music set this band apart from the others.

What can you expect from an Atomic Blue show? Solid original music, the members of The Atomic Blue are all song writers. The band members work hard on their original songs and take pride and time to get things right. The Atomic Blue is also familiar with many cover songs and understands that people in the crowd need a good cover every now and again. Good times are always abundant at Atomic Blue shows. The light hearted attitude and the experience to get the crowd involved is an important aspect of The Atomic Blue's live music. High energy and soulful music will be heard at an Atomic Blue show, the infectious sounds hit the crowds ears and finds the way into their hearts, souls, and feet.
