Currently in the studio, Straw Dogs is following up their "Love and then Hope" CD, which garnered rave reviews. (See www.strawdogs.com for more.) Straw Dogs continue to pump out fresh music -- "Americana on Fire" -- that remains distinct despite its broad appeal. The band continues to draw impressive comparisons: the rock and groove of Counting Crows and Ryan Adams, melody and harmony of CSN and Indigo Girls, and songwriting that demonstrates an allegiance to the craft.
The independent film "Trial By Fire" features a new song by the band, "When Heaven Falls." And two other movies, including one by ski-film master Warren Miller, featured songs by Straw Dogs. Darren Smith's song "Ghost" was featured in the major motion picture "Feast of Love," starring Morgan Freeman and Greg Kinnear. It's also on the soundtrack, alongside "Hallelujah" sung by Jeff Buckley.
