If their was any musical background to steven laws it came from his grandad who could listen to a song being played on the radio and play the tune note for note on his harmonica.

Steven laws's songwriting passion grew from listening to more than one style of music from soul songs, rhythm & blues music, country, folk songs right through to classical music.

Steven's main love even as a child was ballad songs as he felt thay gave a more powerful connection to the songs lyrics, he would spend hours each day trying to emulate the way musicains would sing songs and connect to the music.
