Biography

Holy Dang Dance Party has essentially combined the finest, most captivating qualities of electro, pop, techno, and funk to ultimately create an entirely new style of dance music - a unique, electric, harmonious sound that is deliciously fresh and inspiringly new. The music unifies heavy doses of electronic sounds with organic, melodic instrumentation. Sparkling and lively, these songs motivate and excite, driven by playful melodies and vigorous beats. The music is innovative, to say the least, and the arrangements are imaginative and energizing. This is techno as a journey - each song has a distinct beginning, middle, and end. Holy Dang developed her sound amidst the Detroit techno scene. Taking root in New Orleans for a number of years, HDDP has also pocketed inspiration from this prominent center of funk. After years of experience playing trumpet and guitar for various ska, funk, and punk bands, she has concentrated her musical prowess in order to independently create her own collection of predominantly instrumental music.

Her upcoming album, Blippity Hoo Ha, is a swirling synthesis of booming, funky bass lines, highly percussive rhythms, and impressive arrangements. The album dishes out one upbeat track after another - some tracks belt out buoyant and trendy horn lines while others showcase intricate melodies or humorous vocal samples.
