"Sons of Pioneers" are a band which originally formed back in 2001 using the name "Manakin" after Jonni Leyshon (Lead Vocals/Guitar) returned home to Port Talbot from studying a music degree in Guilford's ACM music academy. On his return, Jonni hooked up with an old friend (Keri John - Drums) and decided to put together a band. A short time later Paul Eagle (Lead Bass) was drafted in as a bass player and hung up his usual position of lead guitarist to venture into pastures new with "Manakin".

Now back together under the name of "Sons of Pioneers" they are sounding better than ever and writing some amazing alternative rock, "Sons of Pioneers" are constantly hard at work in the practice room in between gigs, fine tuning their setlist and writing new material ready to hit the scene by storm over the coming year.
