Story Behind The Song
I meet a lot of people in a lot of well wishing volunteer activities. I get asked all to often why I'm still single, the divorce was 10 years ago, etc. I thought I would write a song where "nobody" is that "special somebody" in that I've come to the realization that I'm better off with nobody... for now.
Song Description
This is a realization that I'm better off with nobody, but written and sung as if Nobody is that special somebody's name.

Lyrics
I've been through some rough times - I've had some really great days
This last rough time around, - we decided to go our separate ways
All my friends keep saying - what has now become cliche
"You're better off without her", - "you don't need her anyway" and, -
"you'll find somebody great"
I'm learning a lot, about a lot of things,
Now that I've made it through the part that stings
This one observation today kind of has a unique ring...
I'm better off with Nobody - Nobody'll never do me wrong
Nobody's the reason I sing this song - Nobody's even singing along
Nobody's always there for me. - Nobody treats me like a V.I.P.
Maybe someday I'll find that SOMEbody -
but for now, I'm better off with Nobody
Now, I'm not saying I don't miss - having someone to hold
Someone to go to the movies with, - a cuddle buddy when it's cold
It just gets a little old sometimes, - hearing from everyone that "knows best".
I know I'll make it through this mess, - That's why I'm not depressed -
I know I'm truly Blessed
I'm Blessed to be with Nobody
- Nobody'll never do me wrong
Nobody's the reason I sing this song - Nobody's even singing along
Nobody's always there for me. - Nobody treats me like a V.I.P.
Maybe someday I'll find that SOMEbody - but for now, I'm better off with Nobody
Maybe someday I'll find that somebody - but for now, I'm better off with Nobody
