STRINGS

Story Behind The Song

I come from a right wing Christian family... and this is how I deal.

Song Description

I've alway's had an apocalyptic side to me and this song is an expression of it. quantum physics and string theories have broadened and perhaps expanded my concept of an apocalypse including the idea that Jesus could be any punk kid on the street.

Lyrics

Look, I cant tell you why my eyes are dry and my head's on tight
I'm changing places with a million different faces lost in a maze of credit card cages
Waiting, for the day to come when the path makes sense and the Kingdom's come
I still have fun with my mad house soul mate pushing little flowers up through this mass grave Laughing, at a world disgraced, Through pride it begs to be replaced. It's thorns were born to be exchanged for the symbol of a soul that understands pain
Jesus please let me see your shotgun Oh my oh my, that'll do the job this time
Jesus please put down your shotgun Oh my oh my, how some of us have tried
Strings, it's all about strings, Donnie Darko knows what I mean
I walk toward what I want till want it to the point that I'll change my thoughts until I got it
Listening to the sound of my heart beat telling my mind that my soul's grown cheap
Please release me from this thing when I'm ready to play my own strings
A holograph of quantum waves forms the portrait of this cage. Each vibration changing nations, changing games and the way we play them. Look at this new mind it used to be paralyzed, now it's alive although the world around it dies, Hold on tight cause we're gonna be sinking
Unless 10% of our brains start dreaming
Jesus please let me see your shotgun Oh my oh my, that'll do the job this time
Jesus please put down your shotgun Oh my oh my, how some of us have tried
Please don't talk behind my back I'm not sure I can handle that I set my aim just off the map cause little here's been built to last and a soul cant grow from an obsolete mold
A master must know the flow of it's own home Like God knows the nature of her own globe
We must reach deep into the unknown. Give me a drum and a package of cigarettes, 15 minutes to stare into the emptiness. Left brain right brain Left brain right brain, Wait for the patterns of light... I cant explain what it means to move within the cortex Open up the fortress walk into the vortex. Find light within it's own darkness, Intuition flows from where the force is.
Jesus please let me see your shotgun Oh my oh my, that'll do the job this time
Jesus please let me see your shotgun Oh my oh my, that'll do the job this time
Jesus please put down your shotgun Oh my oh my, how some of us have tried
Jesus please put down your shotgun Oh my oh my, how some of us have tried

it was ok ok

I like the overall vibe. Kind of reminds me a little of a band called John Wayne. Don't ask me why. I think it's the spoken lyrics and southern rock vibe. Almost like southern Rock meets hip hop which I must admit is something I find rather intriguing. Love the playing, vocals and overall vibe.

Something compels me to listen to each and every word of your message. The FX on the BG's are haunting. I like this. Looking fwd to more. MP

got some interesting lyrics, I hear potential, rating creativity it hard and this is definitely creatively unique yet I hear a bit of Red Hot Chilly Peppers and The Lacs ;) its needs some more background music maybe even pick it up a notch? (Like my music being raw lacking details) Just saying I can relate! Good Luck with all.

good music

Nice track with great lyrics and a funky groove! I like it!

This could be used by a show about Drug Cartel.
