Story Behind The Song
I simply want to contribute to the ongoing effort to stop the tragedy of domestic violence... A significant percentage of the proceeds from sales of this song will go to National Coalition Against Domestic Violence... Download Gotta Stop and 25% will go to the charity... 75% will be kept to cover initial production costs and expenses for the ongoing effort in other venues... I recently received permission have a display in a Peet's Coffee Store... The first step to hopefully going nationwide and generating a buzz to raise substantial funding for the Coalition... At Peet's, 80% of any donations above and beyond $1 will go to the organizations fighting domestic violence and only 20% will be kept to cover ongoing costs... Please write me if you have any questions regarding the percentages and how they are being distributed... All accounting will be handled in the usual method at Broadjam for all sales on this site... I am also working on options for larger donations through Broadjam and they are working with me to make that happen... Be sure to visit the NCADV website and thanks so much for donating to this very worthwhile cause!!!

Lyrics
Gotta Stop
Johnny
let's get out of here
'cause where we need to go
is a long long way from here
My brother
you know I just wanna walk
We'll get there when we get there
but we need to talk
And I hope you listen to me
Cause I need you to see
the things that you do to her
you'd never do to me
and I've heard all your excuses
but that time has come and gone
Brother, you're wrong... (wrong)
You've gotta stop
Johnny
Don't you run away
she didn't say a thing to me
I've just heard her pray
So now you know
I can't let this go on
It's time for you to be a man...
And own up to what you've done
And I hope you listen to me
Cause I need you to see
the things that you do to her
you'd never do to me
and I've heard all your excuses
but that time has come and gone
Brother, you're wrong... (wrong)
You've gotta stop...
I had to call the cops
Brother,
We're almost there...
It's just around the corner,
but a long long way from here...
