Lyrics

Rising Creek
© 2012 Bauer/Starburst

Come the springtime in the forest when my mountain melts its snow
I'll be down here by the creek full of history that I know
With a bucket in my hand and a hook upon the line
I'll be fishing for lost memories I'll come nibbling one last time

(chorus)
There's a yearning nestled deeply there's a thirst that can't be quenched
There's a part of me that's missing like a lover who's been benched
A cannon ball that's faltered from the target that it seeks
I'll be wading through the waters of the rapid rising creek

I remember how your blonde hair fell like satin on your neck
And your eyes reflected truth and your mood was always best
With the salmon struggling upstream and we thought they'd never cope
But you cheered them on with laughter and you filled my heart with hope

(repeat chorus)

(bridge)
Let your rivers run straight through me
Let your satin dry my tears
Let the truth I found inside your eyes
Give me comfort through the years

(repeat chorus)

The nice, clean strumming of the acoustic guitar grabbed me right from the start, and really was the solid foundation for this uptempo song. Vocals were sung well in pitch and delivery. I also liked the palm muting technique on the guitar which worked well with the rhythm. There were a couple unexpected, dramatic pauses which also worked well, particularly contrasting with the quick, bouncy tempo of most parts of the song.

Very unique. Love it . Loved the guitar picking. Hook, vocals and recording were all nicely done.

Nice Folk tune! Great story and well sung. Great production balance. Simple Guitar and Vocal always works for me! Keep it going!!

guitars are really clean and present...
bridge is also really nice...

Love the guitars! They're so bright and clear! Your vocals also have a country tone in some places but it suits this song well. Although it's just vocals and two guitars, it's sounds good just as it is.

Clever lyrics. Strong vocal performance and guitar playing.
