Song Description

At the start, we hear a minor keyed broding melody played by brass and woodwinds. This introductory theme fades and is followed by the main theme dominated by woodwinds. Like the Introductory theme, it's sad and meleancholy. As it fades the introductory theme returns accentuated by bass drum. It concludes with a chorus cresendo. We now hear an arpeggio pattern being played by the cellos. The main theme returns dominated by the brass section. This time it's more rhythmic and dynamic with string staccatos. The theme repeats but this time dominated by a choral section. The string staccatos become chopier. The timpani is augmented with snare drum and bass. This main theme climaxes and another dramatic and proud chorus/brass dominated theme presents itself. It almost sounds like something you would hear in a Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western; very operatic. This third theme fades and the piece becomes more tranquil. We hear the introductory theme played again and again by different sections of brass and woodwinds. The choir, timpani, bass, double bass, cellos and a vibraphone play accompany the variations of the intro melody played by the brass. It sounds like organized confussion. A staccato begins in the low strings which gradually builds and increases in pitch until all of the strings are playing it. This is a tension builder which ends with the 1st and 2nd violins playing a high tremelo. The tremelo fades and is replaced by the cello arpeggio we heard earlier. The main theme repeats with yet faster string staccatos and more intense choir. The third follow up dramatic and proud theme returns and slowy dies out more tranquil. The choir and brass conclude the piece in a erie ethereal manner.
