Story Behind The Song
This song was magic from the moment it started. The story is about a dear friend of mine who continues (to this day) to struggle with wanting to 'do it all.' I think we all relate to wanting to do more than our lives, schedules, environments allow us. Something has to give -- unfortunately for my friend, most of the time it is his relationship that feels his struggle. I watch him on a daily basis, scatter bits and pieces of himself all over the place-- not really able to dedicate any of real time to any one thing. I watch his tug of war and think about how simple life was when we were pre teens, playing on our swing sets in the hot summer sun--hence the phrase "dreaming of lazy ways like summer days." The jazzy undertones are for the listener to feel the summer breezes.

Lyrics
Struggling to make him happy,
There's never enough of my time.
I am so torn with the passions in my life.
I can hear you knocking
Always wanting to come in
Can I reach the door before your sound is gone again?
Dreaming of lazy ways like summer days (2x)
....Scattered pieces of my life (2x)
What I can give is just a speck
No matter how much I have left
it's never enough-
I cannot choose, without regret it's just no use
(Chorus)
We've both changed our lines,
It's time to make up our minds
Fate brought us together;
don't let it pull us apart
