Story Behind The Song
The song comes from Larry's observation of himself and society. Why do we do what we do? We are moving so fast and we don't even know why, like the hamster on the wheel. People he knows seem to stay too busy. When they slow down they see who they are, basically shallow, and they don't like what they see, so they keep running.
Song Description
We are a prisoner of our ambitions. Our amgitions keep us hostage. Societies expectations of what it is to be successful - good job, money, nice car, nice house, popularity - keep us running, but inside we want to find ourselves, who we are, why we are here, we want to make a difference to the world that matters. Yet we keep running and don't get still enough to find answers to those questions.

Lyrics
Running all the Time
Words and music by Larry Hagner
I'm in perpetual motion like the roar of the ocean.
I hide behind my mask and chaos becomes my friend.
I'm always seeking and never finding.
I've become a prisoner of, of unfulfilled expectation.
If I slow down I'll see who I've become.
Running all the time.
No one sees me when the lights go out.
With all of my fears and all my doubts.
I'm always seeking and never finding.
I've become a prisoner of, of passions that I can't control.
Like a performer in a tragic show.
Running all the time.
Running all the time.
I've been created for this moment in time.
I want to live my life to leave a mark.
If I lose myself and reach for something divine,
A fire can start with one small spark.
Running all the time.
Running.
Don't want to be a prisoner no more.
Gonna knock down all the doors.
Make my life count for something more.
Running all the time.
Running all the time.
Running all the time.
