How To Fly
Words & Music by: Scott Kovarik
(c)2005 Scott kovarik

I met a homeless man as I was walkin' down the street
His hopeless face could tell a story
Once a child with hope in his eyes somehow lost his way
While chasing empty dreams of glory
What did you do with life
When you were living
Did you forget you got the most when you were giving.

And you don't need to know how to fly
I think Superman is overrated
No tight fitting suit, no invisible beam
All the heroes that we want to believe in
Are everyday people
Just like you and me

What do you see when you look into the mirror
Is it a faded dull reflection of what you used to be
Don't trade your hopes for lies, or you might end up like me
Don't you know I was once a lot like you, you see
And it's not too late for you - just seize the moment
I'm all out of tomorrows, but you still have a few

And you don't need to know how to fly
I think Superman is overrated
No tight fitting suit, no invisible beam
All the heroes that we want to believe in
Are everyday people
Just like you and me

There was something familiar in his eyes
As the lines disappeared he said
Unless you take my advice what you see is the price
This is your future, yeah, I am you
And you are me

And you don't need to know how to fly
I think Superman is overrated
No tight fitting suit, no invisible beam
All the heroes that we want to believe in
Are everyday people
Just like you and me

And you don't need to know how to fly
And you don't need to know how to fly
I think Superman is overrated
