Story Behind The Song
This was from a large collection of songs that I wrote as a teenager when I was just learning to play but was a prolific songwriter. I've just recently started digging through my personal archives looking for sparks of early genius. Using the production skills that I've acquired over the years, I'm re-recording some of the songs to make them presentable to a modern audience.
Song Description
A Pop-Rock ballad about someone who invests everything in a talented woman that he loves and believes in. Then when presented with seemingly golden opportunities, she moves on and leaves her first love.

Lyrics
Looking pretty's easy
when you're living in a movie scene
But when you take away the makeup
it reveals everywhere that you've been
Now showtime is no time in the life
of a young Christian girl
But everyone has told you
you're the greatest thing that's happened to the world
And I'm just a fading memory,
a mere stepping stone
But I hope you find
what you're looking for
It only takes a minute
but before you know you're in it
for life
It's the world in motion
giving you a taste of the prize
Your talent is a gift
you said you would not comprimise
But a chance for greatness
has given you a new set of eyes
And I'm just a fading memory,
a mere stepping stone
But I hope you find
what you're looking for
I found you alone
when no one else would open a door
Make no mistake
I would not leave or forsake you
evermore
You think you are strong
don't need any help I provide
The world may seem friendly
but Babe that can change overnight
And I'm just a fading memory,
a mere stepping stone
But I hope you find
what you're looking for
